What Makes Quitting Smoking on Your Own So Difficult?
If you don’t have a very strong reason, it’s hard to just quit smoking. But why is that? What are the psychological reasons?
Often at this point, it is said: “Yes, nicotine is super addictive!” But this answer is too simple and not helpful! It might serve to keep children from smoking, but for someone who already smokes, it acts like a nocebo (the opposite of a placebo – a nocebo is a self-fulfilling negative prophecy).
